    Coastal Attractions

Jersey is an island and the sea is never far away. Clear water and beaches surround some 45 miles of coastline  Jerseys greatest natural treasure  and a comprehensive network of footpaths enables the visitor to walk the majority of the islands perimeter.
The wide sandy bays in the south are perfect for water sports such as canoeing, wake boarding, water skiing, jet skiing and windsurfing, whilst the rocky bays in the north have superb sheltered diving sites and excellent fishing. The water off the south-eastern coast is relatively calm and shallow, so good for the less experienced swimmer and also for children, whilst the west coast, with waves that havent touched land for 3,000 miles is a haven for surfers! Dramatic cliffs in the north offer spectacular scenery and stunning vistas.

    Heritage

A visit to any of Jersey's heritage attractions will show that Jersey knows exactly what history is really about  people. From the superb medieval castle of Mont Orgueil, to Hamptonne Country Life Museum where you will be greeted by the Good Wyf with all the latest gossip from the 17th Century farming community, Jerseys attractions are very much about allowing visitors a glimpse of what island life was like in the past and immersing them in the experiences of their ancestors.

Bouchet Agateware Pottery & Jersey Jewellery
Seasonal Status - open all year round.

Agateware, the reproduction of natural agate stone achieved by marbling white clay with metal oxides, is a pottery form that has fascinated and tested the skills of may potters since the first century AD in ancient China. In 1969 Tony Bouchet took up the challenge to be the first potter to successfully produce and perfect what must be the Holy Grail of pottery. Now as he looks back over 30 years of dedicated work he can see why agateware has never been successfully produced before. In short, it is almost impossible to make. At every stage of development normal pottery practice had to be abandoned and new ways that could cope with the complexities of the pottery had to be developed. At the Bouchet Agateware Pottery you will discover the only examples of perfected agateware since pottery making began and every piece is flawless. For collectors the Bouchet Agateware Pottery offers charger plates, plates, vases, bells, boxes and thimbles, together with an extensive range of unique jewellery. All pottery is made on the premises. Plenty of parking nearby.
